About chf-to-usd.com

What we are, where our data comes from, and how we work.

What this site is

chf-to-usd.com is a focused currency-conversion site covering the Swiss franc (CHF) and US dollar (USD) pair. The live converter at the top of each page uses real-time mid-market rates; every article is written by humans and reviewed before publishing.

No affiliate ads are interleaved inside articles. On comparison pages (like send money) we may include affiliate links to transfer services where we receive a referral fee β€” always disclosed, and the ranking never changes based on who pays us.

Where our exchange rate data comes from

  • Primary: fawazahmed0/currency-api β€” an open, free currency API updated from multiple central-bank feeds daily
  • Fallback: Frankfurter API β€” wraps the European Central Bank's daily reference rates
  • Historical data: ECB reference rates via Frankfurter, going back to 1999

We display mid-market rates β€” the midpoint between the wholesale buy and sell prices. This is the fairest benchmark and the rate banks use with each other. Any retail rate you see in the wild (bank, bureau de change, transfer service) will differ from mid-market by their spread.

How rates update

Rates fetch client-side when a page loads. The underlying ECB reference rates publish once per business day around 16:00 CET. For intraday movement, the fawazahmed0 API updates more frequently from multiple sources. We don't cache rates on our server β€” you see the live feed at page-load time.

The forex market operates 24 hours a day Monday through Friday. Outside those hours (Friday evening to Sunday evening), no rates are updating anywhere in the world β€” the last Friday close is what you'll see.

Editorial approach

Swiss franc content often comes from content mills that grind out AI text without checking facts. We don't. Every article on this site is researched, written and edited by a human. Rate ranges, fee figures, banking rules and dates are verified against primary sources (SNB, ECB, provider pricing pages) before publishing.

Articles marked with an "Updated" date at the top are reviewed at least quarterly β€” more often when a specific event (SNB decision, flash crash anniversary) makes existing copy stale.
